ROCKER |
|
Rocker is the curve along the bottom of the board from nose to tail. Also know as "bottom-curve", rocker is perhaps the most vital element of surfboard design. With too little nose rocker, a board will pearl, or dig under water. With too much, the board will bog, or push water. With too little tail rocker, a board will be too stiff, not wanting to turn. With too much, it will be too loose and lack drive. At Barker Surfboards, we use smooth, flowing rockers (no flat spots) to provide optimum performance and allow for smooth transference of the weight of the surfer from the back foot to the front foot and back again. |
